"Teacher & Student"

A teacher-student relationship is the most sensitive bond. At times, students get extremely attached to their teachers. Usually, they are the kids who come from a disturbed family background or who don't get the required attention from their parents. They try to get that secured feeling from their teachers. And, of course many teachers are warm enough to show that care and comfort level. But, such relations at times leads to infatuation. We usually see such instances in high school or Pre-University colleges, where youngsters get attracted to teacher's intellectualism, maturity, caring words or at times just good looks Teachers with such qualities are compared with boys/girls of their age and they find the teacher more attractive. As I said, it's just infatuation, which doesn't last long, there are very few instances, where this is taken to a extreme level.

There is another unique kind of relationship, which we hardly see these days. The typical "Chandragupta-Chanakya" kind, which is influenced by the concept of "Guru Parampara" in ancient India. At present this concept is slightly changed, which is described below -

We all come across many teachers in the education phase of our life. But, there will be 1 or 2 teachers in those 15-17 years, for whom we have great respect and are extremely fond of them. They become our mentors for life, whom we whole heartily consider as a "Guru". I personally believe that to be successful we need on "Chanakya" in our life. "At present, the world has become so narrow-minded that they even doubt, mock and tease the relationship between Chanakya and Chandragupta". Don't give a damn about it! If you feel he/she is the one, listen to them, those people who tease you or find you boring(as you always listen to the teacher) will stay where they are, whereas you keep reaching new heights in life. It's stupidity to say that we can succeed without help of any guru. Your bond with the teacher may lead to many emotions, just learn how to handle them. "Remember you need a 'king maker' to become a 'king' or may be even vice-verse."

THE NAMO FACTOR

India, has witnessed 16 parliamentary elections. But, the last 2014 elections had created a huge wave worldwide. Whole world was waiting for it's results. The main reason for this was, the prime minister candidate, "Mr. Narendra Modi". What made NAMO different from other politicians? Did countries like China, U.S.A fear his leadership?

Narendra Modi became a very prominent face in Indian politics, after he was appointed(not elected) as CM of Gujarat on 7 Th October 2001. In the first four months He involved himself in providing relief to the devastated reigns of the massive earthquake that hit Gujarat earlier. His job was commendable. Then 'Godra' happened. Modi ordered his top cops to escort returning Hajji pilgrims safely to their homes. He writes letters to neighbouring states to assist him with police cadre. When things went out of control, he ordered shoot at sight orders. Almost 300 Hindus were killed. Very few people know that Modi had never stood an election till then. He became BJP's most powerful leader when he got BJP to power after the godhra riots in 2002 election. Modi's idea of government revolved around privatisation and small government which stood as odds with what journalists described as the "anti-privatisation and anti-globalisation position" of RSS.

Modi emerged as a hard working leader with terrific organisational and administrative ability. Modi's rise is unlike other variety of politicians with no vision, no skills, no organisational capability, or even intelligence, yet they are in fray because of bloodline like the Neharuvian's, Sindhi's, Yadav's or Gowda's. The morch politicians like Mamatha Baneerji, Bal Tackrey, George Fernandes and now Mr.Kejriwal represent a degree of anarchy than good governance solution.

But, Why are countries like U.S.A, China or Pakistan afraid of him? How would his victory affect them?

Narendra Modi, Assumes the highest executive office. There were a series of statements by local BJP officials that appeared deliberately aimed at exploiting tensions between specific communities. There were also more assertive statements directed at neighbours Pakistan – with which India has fought four wars – and China – with which India has had one conflict – and a promise that Modi in power would create an India that no one could talk down to on the international stage. There was even an apparent threat to revise India's "no first strike" nuclear weapons policy .All came together in the slogan "India First".
Rivalling the relationship with Pakistan for complexity and potential for misunderstanding is that with the US. As protocol demands, Barack Obama called the Indian prime minister elect over the weekend to express his hope that his win would help "fulfil the extraordinary promise of the US-India strategic partnership". Crucially, and here no one would have missed the significance, "the president invited Narendra Modi to visit Washington at a mutually agreeable time to further strengthen our bilateral relationship," said a government spokesperson. This could occur as soon as the UN General Assembly in New York in September, when Modi could also visit Washington. The visit is likely to be an extraordinary event with Modi – a teetotal, celibate, ascetic outsider who has shunned the sophisticated salons of India's power elite – suddenly pushed on to the world stage, and into a gruelling round of diplomatic engagements. Perhaps the biggest challenge for Modi on the world stage will be China. Few in India, where annual economic growth has dropped to less than 5% in recent years, now talk of catching up their neighbour. Indeed, for Modi, China may appear to be less a rival than an opportunity. He has been there four times on official visits – more than any other country – and, aides say, admires what has been achieved in the country

From an international perspective, Modi’s entry to the Prime Minister’s office raises two questions. Will India adopt a more harsh and aggressive foreign policy than it did under Manmohan Singh, an Ox bridge-educated economist, and his Congress party? And will the new government succeed in rebooting India’s economic miracle which has sputtered in recent years? Indians and people the world over will be watching to see how far Modi goes in the direction of liberalisation. Reforming India, which has many powerful states and innumerable vested interests, is much harder than reforming an individual state like Gujarat. And while Modi has obtained a historic mandate for his economic agenda-the B.J.P. will be the first party in thirty years to have an outright majority in Parliament-there are still widespread concerns that the fruits of economic progress are not being spread widely enough, concerns that more business-friendly reforms are unlikely to alleviate.

A LETTER TO SACHIN SIR....

Respected sir,
This letter is not only from me but on behalf of all my classmates. You have played a great role in our college life. I never knew that there were even cool teachers like you, we had a fixed conception about teachers and you are quite opposite to that. At the first semester you are everyone favourite teacher! But, when you started pushing us to write blogs, do assignments, internships, attend lectures, fests, you have no idea how much we have cursed you. Now we realise that those were the best memories of our college life. How do we thank you for that??

I've always wondered, this man is so talented, has great contacts and what the hell is he doing with monkeys like us?? I always wanted to know why you took up this profession?

Sir, I was not the confident girl as I am now. I had seen only suppression in my life. You have played a great role in building up my confidence. Three years back, you had told me that I had a very long way to go and achieve great things, when I had brought a journalist for a guest lecture in our college. there are many such instances. Later, i came to know that I was not the only one, there are many students whom you have tamed and mentored. Sir, why were you bothered about our lives? A teacher's job is just to teach! How would it matter to you if someone named Greeshma sat in the last bench quietly doing nothing?? You know, if you discuss about me with my previous teachers they wont believe you because I was not this confident and did nothing! I know that am not the only Greeshma whom you have mentored.. For that you deserve every Honor in this country. I must say I was lucky to have right mentor at right time. Sir, I wish to take your legacy forward and help teenagers to build their confidence and mentor them . I hope am strong enough to do that!

Sir, its our last year with you... We all will definitely miss you. After we pass out of the college we are own our own, will we ever get a mentor like you..?? Each one of us wanted to do something special for you. This my way of thanksgiving. Your favourite way - BLOG!! And by the way tomorrow is your birthday right?? We all(3sem) are WISHING YOU A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY... You were and will always be our favourite teacher...

Yours ,

THE MAGICAL WORD

LOVE! The one word, love, just brings out a smile on the face of the person who says it or reads it somewhere. Why? At least I don't know, buy I must agree, it brings out a smile on my face too. And so did it on yours. Ever tried asking someone "What is love?" They will say "Love is......" and there is a big pause and a bigger smile on their faces.
But what most people don't do is they never ask themselves- "What is love?" Will the question remain unanswered forever? Will you accept this and be done with it? My answer would be 'NO' and many will also do the same.
Then the question is 'what next?' As modern people, what we may do is, we may ask the 'scientist'. The scientist in a geeky way(errr.... No offence) will tell you that love is a feeling, rather than a mental stimulation caused by the hormone oxytocin also called as 'love hormone.'
Can we accept this and be done with it? I would say "No", so will many, Many say love is a beautiful thing. Others say it brings pain and misery with it, But I would say the topic of discussion is contextual. For example, how can your love for your mother bring pain and misery.
Love usually confused for a relation between a girl and a boy or a man and a woman, is it only that, Its not just that. You can love your mother, father, or even friends. This misconception is being demonised in this work of mine. I am no one to define 'love'. But I here I have a few notes from few books which may be relative in defining love.
It is said that love is 'Identification.' By identification, I mean relating to the person, relating to his pain, to happiness. That is love.
               It is also said that:
                                         LOVE+SELFISHNESS= ATTACHMENT
                                         ATTACHMENT-SELFISHNESS=LOVE
In another book, it's clearly depicted as a trace of selfishness, possessiveness or even expectancy in a relation renders it, devoid of love.
Love is a pure feeling without expecting anything from anyone. In my case if I clearly note, I love only three people in those world. This question may arise in your life too and it will not be a shock to me that you my not even find one. Sit at home and ask yourself, "How many people do I love selflessly, not possessively and without expecting anything?" and as a disclaimer, I would like to tell' I am not responsible for your shock. I did a case study in the question, "How many people does everyone love without selfishness, possessiveness and unexpectedly." and the results are devastating... one, two or three and may be even zero.
In this world where nature has only love for us , Why is it hard to find love? Why do we fail to love everyone around us ?Why do we even fail to try to love everyone around us? Why have we decided that we love these many people and don't love others? Why?
The answer to this question is buried deep in you. I argue you to go search for it. Coming to my opinion "I define love as being happy in others happiness" and I personally think that its high time we send the messages of love everywhere and our environment, our surrounding and our world is soon blessed with boon of love. I think, instead of bestowing, 'the only special one' with so much, we can everyone equally and unselfishly. So get up everyday in the morning and say to yourself. "I love everyone." I guess, it works. By the way, I LOVE YOU.

KANNADA BARUTHA???

Aaah! I am sure lot of you in Bangalore would have heard this, but what is Kannada Barutha? Here it goes. Bangalore the IT capital of India, the silicon city and now a metro city opened the gates to almost all kinds of people. Very evidently, the recent poll census proved that there are only 47% of original inhabitants in Bangalore. The lifestyle of the city has seen a gradual change with pizza corners replacing MTR, classy eat out's replacing 'Vidyarthi Bhavan' and flashy pubs replacing 'Mahalakshmi Wine Shops'. 'Change is ineveitable' from the days of BEML, HL & BHEL to INFOSYS and WIPRO. Bangalore has a new look now on the world map. Gone are the days where a typical sunday for any Bangalorean was a nice romantic walk on the pavements of 'Lalbagh' and 'rava idli & coffee' at the nearest yet old looking MTR and a wonderful Annavra (Dr.Rajkumar) film either at Santosh or Central Talkies. Today's Bangalore is deluged in traffic, stress and pressure. Saturday nights without a dine out is desolate and a Sunday without a visit to either a nearest spa Or health clinic is schlocky! The Gandhi Bazaar shops are now AC cooled super markets, majestic is now replaced by diversified Brigade road, Sri Cauvery coffee joint is now Coffee Day and Barista. With globalization and more retail market the city will definitely see more forceful changes.

Have all these changed our language? Kannada, the local language of Bangalore is supposed to be one of the oldest language. It also has a unique script as compared to its other counterparts; but what is the percentage of people really speaking kannada in Bangalore now? The figures are staggering in a different sense, altogether only 37% of people speak kannada in state's capital, for resr it is only "Kannada barutha?"

You want to ask an address in Bangalore? Or reply to a question then English is the most preferred language other than ?Hindi. Its a famous fact that two kannadigas in an IT Company always talk in a neutral language! Even the vendors are channeled with this new wave. People have lost the confidence of speaking in the local language and more over speaking kannada on the streets of M.G. Rod or Kormangala  is substandard. Shopping malls in the city have been completely banned from using kannada, not a forced one but definitely an adapted one. One has to confirm that the other person knows the language before her starts using any language.

Just to hit some facts, Marathi is still the largest and common speaking language in Mumbai even though Mumbai has the highest number of inhabitants. Telugu is a practiced ritual in yet another IT Hub Hydrabad. In Tamil Nadu, beware you can be alive if you are a fan of Rajnikanth or if you know Tamil. Malayalam is practiced among mallu's in Kuwait, Dubai Or any hospital!

I am neither a Kannada activist nor  I run any kannada supporting organization. I am just a plebian who just loves the language though me being a telugite. Globalization is the trend and modernisation the mantra, but at the cost of language? Sounds illogical.. Is speaking Kannada down market? The answer has to be found within ourself...

I AND YOU

He was the first man in my life whom i loved unconditionally. He had the pleasure of filling so many roles in my life. Role model, teacher, leader, coach, hero, confidant, counsellor, journeyman, etc. I thought it would be the same all my life. But, things gradually changed with time. He became too busy, had no time. Except me, all the other things in this world became important to him. Many questions raised in my mind, he had no time to listen to them and answer. So, thought of putting those thoughts here, may be one fine day he would answer them.(?) I want him back in my life.

"You've been away all these times. When my heart reached for you, you've been too busy; you blame your job. you say all that you do is just for me. But we have just one life to live, trust our life to be together, till the end, forever. Trust me and you."

"You never sat by me to hear the chimes. You say, its fantasy too good to be true. You never comforted me as I sob. You said you would some day, but you didn't see."

"We have just one life to live, just one life to be together, till the end of forever. Its not too late, please stop to pause. Please stop and listen- You'll hear a whole life to be together. Just me and you- 'DAD & DAUGHTER'!"

Dad, you know why daughter's love their dad the most? As they believe that there is at least one man in the world who will never hurt them. I often find myself missing you. The sadness still comes along once in a while. There are no words to tell you what I feel inside. The hurt, the anger, might gradually subside. A billion times I'll need you, a billion times I'll cry... I love you dearly! In my heart you hold a place that no no can ever fill. I will smile whenever I hear your name and be proud of you dad.
Dad, I miss you more than words can ever say. There is not a moment that goes by that I don't think about you. I would give anything to have you back. I cant believe I have to go through life without you. I miss everything about you - your advice, our trips, your dry sense of humour, your intelligence & wisdom, cooking for you, making fun of you with the computer,. You were the best man I ever knew and that will never change. LOVE YOU DAD!
